WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

The Global Procurement division is responsible for BASF Coatings Group purchasing activities worldwide. We negotiate contracts that provide BASF Coatings Group with tangible added value. Our focus areas include the procurement of raw materials, technical goods and services, as well as logistics solutions. With our comprehensive market know-how and deep understanding of value chains, we are a valuable partner for the business units.

  • In your new position you are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data solutions across all architecture layers, from the data platform to procurement-specific applications.
  • Together with your colleagues you acquire and integrate data from enterprise and procurement systems and provide high-quality Data Products for analytics, AI and downstream applications.
  • Furthermore you develop and maintain frameworks for business-context modeling (semantic layer) and operationalize AI models and agentic components across the architecture.
  • Together with process owners you implement and automate agentic workflows to orchestrate data and process flows and support the integration of external best-of-breed solutions.
  • Last but not least you drive innovation by collaborating with the central Data & AI team, external technology partners and global procurement stakeholders to ensure user adoption and measurable business impact.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • completed university degree in (business) informatics, mathematics or a related field of study
  • several years of hands-on experience developing data products and data platforms, ideally including Databricks or similar platforms
  • strong programming skills in Python and SQL, experience with modern cloud environments and familiarity with integration and process automation platforms
  • analytical mindset, structured working style, high initiative, and strong collaboration as well as communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • excellent English language skills as well as ideally German skills
