Main responsibilities

 

Technical Development Supporting Operational Excellence

  • Control inspection and define standards.
  • Create and set quality control production programs/quality standard and co-operate with production function to ensure that all raw materials and finished products are inspected and tested in accordance with the established systems and approached to ensure they always and consistently meet quality standards and specifications. Quality control:
  • Confirm that plant quality control procedures are properly carried out. Act as final checkpoint to determine overall company products and materials quality and advise immediately the plant management any unusual findings and recommend corrective actions. Educate and instruct production personnel in recommended quality control testing, equipment sanitation and general sanitation and housekeeping practices. Prepare monthly plant evaluation reports and submit to the heads of plant and production. 

Technical development support to commercial strategy 

  • Act as an active member of the sales and marketing team to provide technical development initiatives to support business strategy i.e. color trend, new technology development, new line application, technical upstream and material substitution etc.
  • Provide technical inputs/ recommendation to strategy development and implementation based on analysis of product performance in comparison to competitive products and reports that define and rank performance requirements for technical success.
  • Provide competitive product performance information to verify competitiveness of own products.
  • Interface sales/marketing personnel and technical service laboratory to understand and apply production/application techniques to enhance business opportunities via product applications, meet customer expectations and solve technical problems.
  • Provide inputs and recommendations for developing/evaluating product applications, defining marketability, modifications and termination of ineffective products.
  • Maintain an up-to-date working/technology knowledge of newly developing technologies and manufacturing practices and share with the sales/marketing personnel.
  • Evaluate product and service marketability in terms of market/ customers’ technical and manufacturing needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical development that affect target markets.

Product launch

  • Develop processes and procedures in technical aspects to ensure successful introduction of defined products both actual and SAP system by BOM and BOP controller.  
  • Participate as part of a product launch team to ensure smooth introduction of the product.
  • Share with the sales and marketing team via reporting/ workshops the experience gained in technical service laboratories/ development lab and manufacturing processes in proper application/ formulation techniques.

Responsible Care and EHS

  • Comply with all EHS rules/ regulations, ISO 45001 and RC requirement.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, chemistry, chemical engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in the technical development coatings industry is required.
  • Experience in technical research and development, as well as technical problem solving.
  • Demonstrated abilities in people management, influencing, and negotiation.
  • Proficient in English communication and presentation skills.
