Job Description:

As a Gateway Working Team Lead with BW Papersystems, you would be responsible for overseeing the critical initial stage of manufacturing where raw materials are received and processed into component parts. You will lead daily operations in the Gateway department, managing machinery setup and operation while ensuring all equipment runs efficiently, safely, and meets quality standards. Your role includes supervising and training team members, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining comprehensive documentation for safety, quality, and maintenance protocols. This position requires advanced knowledge of operational procedures and the ability to solve difficult, non-routine problems with limited supervision

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor machinery to ensure smooth and efficient workflow
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, or shop orders to determine machine set-up, production methods, and sequence of operation
  • Set up machinery according to specifications; calibrate, load materials and adjust settings
  • Inspect finished product to ensure it passes quality standards and compliance
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, or minor repairs on equipment
  • Maintain accurate production logs and reports
  • Follow safety protocols and company policies; keep work area clean and free of hazards
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and experience requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of machine operating experience
