Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Controls Engineering Intern for Summer 2026. This internship provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers on key projects focused on automation, electrical design, and controls integration within a manufacturing setting. 

 

Term: Summer 2026 (May-August) 

 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of control systems for paper converting machinery.  

  • Collaborate with senior controls engineers to create and modify control logic, HMI/SCADA interfaces, and PLC programming.  

  • Participate in the documentation of control system designs, specifications, and user manuals.  

  • Support troubleshooting and debugging efforts to identify and resolve control system issues in a timely manner. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of control systems with mechanical, electrical, and software components.  

  • Assist in commissioning and startup activities, ensuring proper functionality and performance of control systems.  

  • Participate in design reviews and contribute innovative ideas to improve the overall performance and efficiency of control systems.  

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in controls engineering.  

 

Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of college coursework completed in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 

  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming and control systems is preferred. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. 

 

This Co-Op offers a valuable opportunity to develop your technical skills in controls engineering, with exposure to real-world projects in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
