Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, you will be responsible for safely optimizing copper production processes and drive continuous improvement to maximize output and reduce costs.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Analyze and deliver mine production bottlenecks using all company available technologies on site and provide feedback to mine planning team to optimize mine production and continuous improvement of mine plans and mine operations.

• Data analysis and provide insights into planning parameters.

• Links planning meeting KPIs, reconciliation with Hexagon/Smart Fleet and continuous improvements to ensure Production targets are achieved.

• Drive cost reductions for mine operation (Capex & Opex) are among the core functions.

• Collaborate with internal Barrick business partners across mining technical services, to support the mine plans.

• Inform and influence the Mine Planning team by providing appropriate parameters.

• Conduct deep dives into mine planning parameters vs. actual performance of Barrick mobile assets against input.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate
• A Degree in Mining engineering. 
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in open pit mining.

• Ability to lead safety & productivity improvement project work & drive improvements.

• Exceptional relationship-building skills coupled with your ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of Barrick business partners will also ensure your success in this role.

• Possession of a valid driver's license is an added advantage.

• Registered member of EIZ.
