Responsibilities:
Design, maintain, and continuously improve Exploration technology platforms.
Manage, evaluate, and validate technology platforms within the geoinformation ecosystem.
Develop applications, utilities, and tools for analysis, querying, and reporting.
Ensure interoperability between platforms and proper data exchange across systems.
Install, configure, and manage Geological Databases for the Latam Exploration VP.
Ensure proper functionality of existing geological data storage workflows.
Perform preventive maintenance on geological databases.
Provide support for third-party application integrations.
Manage system changes and updates.
Conduct user audits (roles, profiles, and privileges).
Perform geoscientific data analysis and management.
Review data integrity within geological databases.
Identify, migrate, and validate historical data not currently stored in geological databases.
Administer, validate, and manage geoscientific information using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), primarily ESRI technologies.
Train personnel involved data entry, querying, and consumption of geological database information.
Proactively propose improvements, support exploration strategy, and design and implement integrated technical solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Mining Engineering required
Minimum 1 year of experience in similar roles preferred
Knowledge of technological solutions for mineral exploration preferred
Understanding of geological database workflows and development required
Experience configuring, administering, and customizing GIS platforms preferred
Proficiency with geospatial data exchange formats (vector and raster) preferred
Experience with geospatial databases (SQL Server Spatial) preferred
Scripting experience for automation and customization of GIS platforms preferred
Knowledge of software architecture and data storage solutions preferred
Familiarity with system development methodologies (agile and non-agile) preferred
Programming/scripting experience in one or more of the following: PowerShell, VBA/VBS, Python, R. preferred
Strong proactive mindset, problem-solving skills, and ability to implement effective technical solutions preferred
