The Kibali Gold Mine Team is seeking to recruit a Analyst - Inventory  to join and grow our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze inventory levels of critical materials, spare parts, and equipment to maintain optimal inventory levels, avoiding both stock-outs and overstock situations.

  • Establish and maintain Recommendation Points (ROP) and Recommended Quantities (ROQ) for items to ensure timely supply.

  • Perform regular cycle counts and perpetual inventory control procedures, investigating and reconciling any discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.

  • Gather and analyze data on material utilization, demand trends, and market trends to develop accurate demand forecasts.

  • Use data analytics to identify inefficiencies, potential risks, and cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain.

  • Generate and present detailed inventory performance reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.

  • Coordinate with the purchasing and logistics teams to manage purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure on-time delivery of materials to the mine site.

  • Serve as a liaison between different departments (operations, production, maintenance, finance) to understand material needs and align inventory strategies with business objectives.

  • Manage supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance.

  • Identify and implement process improvements using methodologies like Lean Six Sigma to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Conduct quarterly obsolete and slow inventory reviews (OSMI) in collaboration with end-users to manage disposition.

  • Ensure that all supply chain and inventory procedures meet the company's security, financial (e.g., SOX), and regulatory standards

  • Ensure full compliance with all local and international health, safety and environment (HSE) policies and regulations relating to the storage and transportation of chemicals. 

  • Identify potential supply chain risks (e.g., disruptions, quality issues) and develop robust contingency plans to mitigate them.

  • Analyze supply chain data and performance indicators to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.

  • Implement process improvements to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and support the company's continuous improvement goals.

  • Prepare detailed reports on inventory balances, costs, and expenses for management and relevant business functions

  • Work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards

     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Management or equivalent field. 

Experience and Skills Requirements: 

  • Have a proven track record of at least 5 years in inventory management, supply chain operations, or a similar data analytics role, preferably in the mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry sectors.

  • Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as SAP or Oracle.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, VLOOKUPs) and experience with data visualization/BI tools.

  • Have strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills

The Kibali gold mine is located in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), approximately 220 kilometres east of the capital of the Haut Uele province, Isiro, 150 kilometres west of the Ugandan border town of Arua and 1,800 kilometres from the Kenyan port of Mombasa. The mine is owned by Kibali Goldmines SA (Kibali) which is a joint venture company effectively owned 45% by each of Barrick and AngloGold Ashanti, and 10% by Société Miniére de Kilo-Moto (SOKIMO). The mine is operated by Barrick.
