About this role

Job Summary

To assist the nursing staff in the rendering of patient care by providing those services necessary for patient comfort and personal hygiene requiring little or no variation in routine, and to assist in areas of orthopedic care(includes splinting), phlebotomy, accucheck, and 12-lead EKG. Also, may assist with Unit Clerk duties. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Performs 12-lead EKG's, UC duties, Accuchecks, application of orthopedic appliances, UDS/BAT, urinary catheterizations as directed by licensed personnel.
  • Assist in admission, transfer, discharge, lifting, turning and ambulation of patients as directed by licensed personnel.
  • Ensure supplies are maintained and areas adequately stocked.
  • Round on patients hourly and prn to offer and provide comfort measures.
  • Assist with efficient turnover of rooms by stripping linen from stretchers, cleaning
  • stretchers, returning clipboards to triage, marking tracking board appropriately, etc.
