Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility
Coordinates and provides care utilizing the critical thinking framework. Blends caring, compassion, knowledge and integrity to provide safe, timely, and quality care while facilitating movement of patients throughout all of Baptist facilities. Patient placement specialists are responsible for ensuring that patients are placed in the most appropriate level of care based on their medical condition and needs. This involves coordinating transfers between hospital facilities and liaising with healthcare providers to ensure that patients receive the appropriate level of care. Makes appropriate bed assignments for admissions, ED, intra-hospital and entity transfers. Performs other duties as assigned.
