Highlights:

Summary: The Patient Services Coordinator shall be responsible to provide coverage in the registration, scheduling, and financial counseling areas. This individual shall assist with patient and customer check in, verification of insurance and demographics, and monitor the need for pre-certs and/or pre-authorizations. The Coordinator will also assist with the direction of patient flow, assessment of patient financial payment obligations, collection and posting of payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance amounts received from patients at the time of service. Additionally, the Coordinator shall be responsible for scheduling all types of appointments, both inside and outside clinic. This individual will also provide service to the patient and clinical staff by providing a complete and orderly record for all appointments and to ensure that all relevant information is available in the medical record in a timely fashion. The Coordinator will also serve in the financial counseling role to provide patients with assistance program options. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education / Experience:High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business preferred. At least 2 years experience working in a medical office or hospital required. Insurance verification and referral experience a plus. License / Certification: None Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Excellent computer skills with ability to use and understand electronic medical records.
• Ability to be flexible and work in different areas as the need arises.
• Ability to understand and empathize with patient financial needs.
• Ability to understand and communicate courteously (verbally and in writing) with others including co-workers, insurance personnel, and patients of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.
• Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality as situations dictate.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 40% of the workday and mobility 60% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
