Role Summary:

The Junior Operator will assist in operating, monitoring, and maintaining critical infrastructure systems to ensure maximum availability, reliability, and efficiency within BMO Financial Group’s critical environments. This entry-level position is designed for individuals with limited experience, offering comprehensive on-the-job training and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Operations: Assist in monitoring and maintaining electrical, mechanical, and integrated facility systems, including UPS, emergency generators, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, and building automation systems.
  • Emergency Response: Provide support during operational issues or emergencies under supervision, following established protocols.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Participate in scheduled inspections and basic preventive maintenance tasks to ensure system reliability.
  • Issue Identification: Report observed issues promptly to senior team members and assist in documenting findings.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Respond to basic building occupant requests and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Learning & Development: Engage in training programs to develop technical knowledge and safety awareness in critical environments.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational coursework in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC systems is an asset.
  • Experience: No prior experience required; willingness to learn and work in a critical environment setting.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
    • Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting.

Salary:

$50,100.00 - $93,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
