Job Description:
This job is responsible for leading a team to maximize the value delivered through multiple programs and/or value streams within a small, less complex delivery portfolio. Key responsibilities include managing and developing the team through coaching, mentoring and feedback, aligning strategy, and execution by applying Lean and systems thinking approaches to strategy, investment funding, portfolio operations, and governance. Job expectations include managing the portfolio, ensuring compliance to standards, and driving continuous improvement to operations and governance.

Position Summary:

This job is responsible for overseeing programs and projects specific to corporate change initiatives that impact how the bank does business, provides a product or service, or executes a function. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary contact to department managers for critical change initiatives and communicating, influencing, and negotiating vertically and horizontally to obtain or leverage resources. Job expectations include delivering regulatory and executive material and ensuring results align to program strategy, simplification, and new capabilities. 

  • Ability to be nimble and flexible; prioritize workload, proactively react to issues, and consistently react to shifting deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at different levels within the organization.

  • Fluent in technology and strong knowledge of project and software development methodologies / techniques.

  • Solid presentation, facilitation, interview, and workshop skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, adaptation, and conflict management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the planning, coordinating, and delivery of defined deliverables for key payments programs which requires engagement from teams across multiple organizations.

  • Communicates the target outcomes, coordinates delivery, manages risks, ensures compliance to standards, and provides visibility into the health of the program. 

  • Ensures execution and delivery meets the client’s expectations in terms of the target outcomes, timeline, cost. 

  • Manages financials for the program, assist with resource planning, and facilitate sync points between business and technology leaders across multiple organizations. 

  • Establishes the target outcomes in partnership with the stakeholders and leaders. 

  • Establishes and builds relationships with business and technology leaders across multiple organizations, as well as Compliance and Risk. 

  • Coordinates and facilitates the program routines – e.g., kick-off, status reviews, stakeholder meetings, change controls, tollgates, etc.

  • Plans and coordinates delivery and dependencies across multiple organizations. 

  • Promotes/facilitates communication and collaboration across organizations to achieve the target outcomes and timeline.

  • Facilitates dependency management/risk management/ impediment removal. 

  • Responsible to provide status updates to stakeholders and leadership pertaining to the target outcomes, delivery, risks/issues, and schedule. 

  • Ensures that execution is aligned with target outcomes by working with the sponsor/stakeholders. 

  • Ensures the work delivered complies with Enterprise Change Management standards. 

  • Tracks the success metrics and reviews performance with stakeholders and leadership. 

  • Manages the financials and assists with resource planning for the program. 

  • Provides input to define/improve the Change Management process for the Portfolio. 

  • Individual Contributor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent business , financial and technical acumen including Global Banking subject matter knowledge (knowledge of institutional payments, deposits, credit, liquidity products highly desired)

  • Extensive understanding in operating a business or technology organization running a mature Agile at Scale (SAFe 4.0+) enterprise including experience with large scale Program Increment (PI), Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) and Value Stream (VS) planning, creation and management

  • Minimum of 6+ years of portfolio and program management or commensurate, practical experience leading technical / business teams in delivering both large scale, multi-year programs as well BAU/lights on project change.

  • At least 5+ years of people management skills to lead, influence and mentor professional resources of the highest quality.

  • Detailed knowledge of the processes, procedures & policies that govern technology at BofA including programming standards, engineering design, maintenance, application activities, compliance, risk and security standards.

  • Ability to lead across multiple lines of business to orchestrate cohesive oversight and management.

  • Ability to manage business and employment risks and audit/action planning processes.

  • Demonstrates a bias for action and a commitment to build/maintain partnerships in a client driven environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field is required
