Overview

The Bancorp’s Internship program is designed to provide students with a meaningful and challenging hands-on learning experience as well as an inside look into a career in the financial services industry. Interns are immersed into our culture and will work on actual projects within their business line or control function that will expand their knowledge and complement their education with real-world job experience.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions
  • Learns under the direction and guidance of experienced Internal Audit Department leaders.
  • Performs audit steps, analyzes the results of audit work; prepares work papers to support conclusions; and id\identifies opportunities to strengthen controls and the development of corresponding recommendations through a risk-based audit process.
  • Researches issues and makes meaningful recommendations to improve operational processes and procedures and mitigates exposure to risk and fraud.
  • Tracks findings to ensure management adequately addresses identified risk and control weaknesses.
  • Develops strong relationships with all levels of employees within the bank to ensure that company risks are openly discussed and addressed with a focus on problem solving.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Auditing experience or relevant experience or an eagerness to obtain such experience.
    • An interest in pursuing a professional certification such as CPA – Certified Public Accountant, CIA – Certified Internal Auditor, CRMA – Certified in Risk Management Assurance and/or CISA – Certified Information Security Auditor.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively and clearly communicate and present ideas to senior leadership.
    • A team player, able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
    • No travel required.
    Program Eligibility
    • Eligible to work for any employer in the United States for the full duration of the internship. The Bancorp will not assist in applying for visas or altering the visa status of applications.
    • Enrolled full-time in an undergraduate college degree program.
    • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in a business-related field such as accounting or finance.
    • Must be available for full-time internship rotation.
    • May not be related to any employee of The Bancorp.
