As a Manufacturing Engineer – CAM Specialist at Baker Hughes, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing CNC machining processes through advanced CAM programming. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, improve cycle times, and maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency. 

As Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible of:

  • Developing and optimizing CAM programs for complex turbomachinery components using advanced CAD/CAM software. 

  • Collaborating with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and process robustness. 

  • Defining machining strategies and cutting tool selection to improve productivity and reduce costs. 

  • Supporting the introduction of new products and technologies into manufacturing. 

  • Analyzing machining performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Maintaining and update process documentation, including setup sheets and tool lists. 

  • Troubleshooting machining issues and provide technical support to production teams. 

  • Evaluating and integrate new CAM technologies and software capabilities. 

  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies. 

  • Acting as a technical reference for CAM-related topics within the Manufacturing Engineering team. 

 

Fuel your passion 

To be successful in this role ideally you should have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical background. 

  • Good experience in CAM programming for multi-axis CNC machines (e.g., 5-axis milling, mill-turn). 

  • Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Siemens NX, Mastercam, or similar). 

  • Strong understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, and materials. 

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently. 

  • Fluent in English and Italian. 

  • Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing is a plus.
