About this role


Job Description

  1. Lead a team of Unit Managers and Program Planners to deliver daily planning support for the C4ISR and Fast Labs (FL) business areas, ensuring ≥ 95 % on‑time execution of all assigned tasks.
  2. Collaborate with the Program Planning Director and two Business Area Managers to support the business needs through sharing resources, supporting pop up needs to ensure success of the Planning function without impacting support to the C4ISR, FL programs.
  3. Drive staffing growth in C4ISR, FL Business Areas working with Talent Acquisition and peer Planning Business Area Managers to develop organization depth and mentor new hires to quickly acclimate to the Planning Team.
  4. Support annual budget planning activities, present at quarterly All Hands Meetings, hold regular staff meetings, attend/participate at Weekly Planning Priority Meetings, conduct effective, regular one on ones with the direct reports, and prepare the C4ISR, FL Planning team for quarterly PX Leadership Reviews (PXLRs).
  5. Represent Program Planning at key Business Area Reviews in C4ISR and FL to build trusted advisor status with the senior leaders in the Business Areas.
  6. Communicate clearly with the Product Area Directors and Deputy VP/GM within the C4ISR and FL business areas. Cascade directives to Unit Managers/Planners with consistent messaging and drive accountability & recognition.
  7. Serve as a Program Planning thought leader, shaping the strategic roadmap for the function and championing best-practice adoption across C4ISR and FL.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  1. Minimum 12 years of combined program‑planning, program‑management, and risk‑opportunity management experience in C4ISR/FL or equivalent domains with a Bachelor's Degree in a Business or Engineering discipline.
  2. Demonstrated use with MS Office Tools including Pivot Tables in Excel, creating presentations in PowerPoint, generating documents in Word, utlizing Outlook and Teams for communicating with the internal/external team members.
  3. More than 5 years of experience using MS Project and its application for BAE Systems' products and solutions.
  4. Balances competing priorities to ensure > 95% of high priority needs are addressed while minimizing impact to program needs for 5% of tasks that may slip or deemed as lower priority.
  5. Experienced at managing a team with more than 5 direct reports and a turnover that is less than 10%.
  6. Understands US DoD schedule policies and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) requirements and has completed the Earned Value Certification requirement at BAE Systems.

  1. Has a foundational knowledge of the Program Management process and how the role of the Program Planner supports the overall success of a Program.
  2. Demonstrates an Enabler, Can-Do approach and not only reporting status!
  3. Applies a “How Can We Help” thought process first, foremost and consistently!
  4. PMP Certification.


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
