The full-service repair facility is ISO 9001 1994 and located on the Elizabeth River with excellent access to Hampton Roads, the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
Or Norfolk facility is currently looking for a Material Control Planner that would be responsible for:
Material planning and estimating of bids provided by the lead estimator or contract administrator.
Develops BOM and obtains pricing for material identified on specific work item(s) or referenced drawing(s). Develops and maintains LLTM list to ensure material requirements will meet availability milestones. Ability to read drawing is a must.
Responsible for requisitioning of material that has been identified in the bid process, to include but not limited to all LLTM and CFM.
Verifies material being ordered is covered by the scope of work thereby prompting the requirement for generic report(s) / sequence(s) as required.
The Material Control Planner is responsible for assisting programs and operations and craft personnel in identifying material problems.
High School Diploma or equivalent plus additional 4 years relevant experience in a planning/coordinating function; or relevant Associate’s degree plus additional 2 years experience.
Understanding of Bill of Materials and MRP planning.
Must be familiar and able to read U.S. Navy specifications, drawings and technical manuals.
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Good planning, time management and organization skills.
Sound interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
Ability to use computers to prepare appropriate reports and documents.
Proficiency in use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database development programs (such as Word, Excel, Business Objects, and Access).
Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
