About the Department:
The Hotel Operations team is responsible for reaching agreements with 800+ luxury hotel & ship partners annually to secure accommodation for upcoming seasons. We’re deeply focused on account & relationship management to foster mutually beneficial partnerships, drive operational excellence, and deliver exceptional guest experiences. The team is comprised of contract and data administrators and is located in Berkeley, CA & Utrecht, Netherlands.
What You’ll Do:
As the Hotel Operations Coordinator, you will play a critical role within Backroads. You will be responsible for effectively sending, negotiating, and confirming the Dates, Rates, and Terms for Contracts with your assigned hotel partners across the globe. You will learn ‘the Backroads voice’ and engage in negotiations via email and over the phone with hotel suppliers. You will make rate recommendations for approval by the management team in Berkeley, CA. You will effectively shepherd the contract through to final approval & signature in Berkeley, CA. You will establish a good working relationship with your Regional Director(s) and collaborate closely with them to solve denied dates and follow up with outstanding contract confirmations. You will also work closely with the Rooming, Demand Planning, and Finance departments to resolve questions and issues for guest bookings. You will learn and become proficient in enterprise & Salesforce Project systems, internal business processes, and additional resources (like reports) to have visibility on accomplishments and outstanding items.
