The Role

As a PMO Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting a wide portfolio of projects within our Mission Systems business - an area trusted across global defence and security. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in project controls and project governance, contributing to critical defence, aerospace and engineering programmes that safeguard people and infrastructure. You’ll support the smooth running of our project management framework, helping to create consistency, drive best practice and ensure seamless delivery across our teams.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

 

  • Connect with project teams to ensure documentation, processes and governance requirements are in place.
  • Support and track projects adopting our project management framework.
  • Ensure projects meet policy and governance milestones, including scheduling reviews and coordinating documentation.
  • Communicate guidance to project teams and support the implementation of change initiatives and tools.
  • Manage and maintain data across PMO tools, proactively keeping information accurate and up to date.

 

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with initially 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home. But will progress to be onsite as and when required.

 

 

Essential experience of the PMO Assistant

 

  • Strong administrative experience, ideally within project management or project office environments.
  • Highly organised, proactive and motivated, with strong follow‑through skills.
  • Comfortable handling data with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Teams.
  • Appreciation for project governance (desirable).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
