About this role

The EHS&S Specialist 2 is responsible for implementing EHS&S programs at a local (site) level. This position will partner
with local management, salaried, and hourly employees to ensure local EHS&S compliance and implementation of the
company EHS Management System. 


- Implement EHS policies, procedures, and best practices at a site level 
- Develop and deliver EHS training to salaried and hourly employees 
- Collect, evaluate, analyze, and manage EHS data as required by company policy and local permitting requirements 
- Implement a hazard identification, evaluation, and controls program to minimize risk of exposure and potential injuries 
- Facilitate local EHS Leadership Team 
- Facilitate the development of local EHS Business Plans which identify proactive activities that drive process
improvements and a reduction of incidents 
- Maintain EHS compliance, specifically environmental permits, and submit routine reports to regulatory agencies 
- Interface with regulatory agencies as required 
- Facilitate/lead incident investigations as required by company policy 
- Initiate Serious Incident Review (SIR) process 
- These duties are meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.



 -Bachelor’s degree Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Affairs or related field, or equivalent
experience in lieu of a degree 
- 5+ years’ experience in Environmental Health & Safety within a construction, manufacturing, or industrial setting. 
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS-related regulations/compliance requirements 
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging issues and trends in area of regulatory compliance 
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EHS data management software 
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal 
- Ability to work independently, self-starter, and motivator 
- High energy
