Hi, we're glad you're here! We are hiring to our Aviva Services Excellence Centre!
Take a look at our job description - maybe it suits you or one of your friends?
We’re growing our Aviva Services Excellence Centre and looking for an experienced Portfolio PMO Specialist who’s passionate about making change happen in the right way. If that sounds like you — or someone you know — we’d love you to take a look.
About the role
Do you thrive on solving problems?
Are you energised by helping deliver change that underpins Aviva’s strategy?
We’re looking for someone with strong PMO expertise who’s confident operating in both the detail and the bigger picture. You’ll work closely with the Head of Change to support programmes across the portfolio using data to spot trends, highlight risks, celebrate progress, and enable informed decision‑making.
This is a hands‑on role where you’ll need to challenge and be challenged, engage proactively with teams, and roll your sleeves up to get stuck in! You’ll be joining a collaborative, supportive environment where curiosity, clarity, and practicality are valued.
What will you be doing?
You’ll provide day‑to‑day portfolio support across key PMO pillars, Governance, Planning, Risk, and Financials, helping ensure change is delivered predictably and effectively. This includes:
Supporting the Head of Change on complex, large‑scale initiatives across the portfolio.
Using data to surface insights, spotting trends, patterns, and deviations early to enable timely intervention.
Calling out risks, issues, and impacts, identifying themes that need investigation to support successful delivery.
Driving confidence in delivery, ensuring risks are managed within tolerance and governance supports “no surprises” outcomes.
Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Change teams to ensure smooth, consistent, and proactive portfolio support.
What we’re looking for?
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
4+ years’ PMO or governance experience, ideally spanning complex change delivery.
Solid experience in resource and/or budget management.
Strong facilitation and communication skills, with confidence presenting to a range of stakeholders including senior leaders.
Excellent relationship‑building and expectation‑management capability.
A self‑starter mindset, able to work independently, manage your own workload, and drive things to conclusion.
The ability to challenge constructively, influence effectively, and support others to do the same.
A collaborative, inquisitive approach, passionate about removing waste, reducing complexity, and improving how change is delivered.
Strong data literacy, able to interpret information and turn it into actionable insight.
A methodical, agile mindset, comfortable shifting between detail and broader strategic context.
Very good Excel and PowerPoint skills (and confidence across the MS Suite).
Experience with change management tools (e.g., Planview), nice to have but not essential.
Excellent spoken and written English.
Experience in the insurance or financial sector, helpful but not mandatory.
