A Brief Overview

Responsible for overall operations and processes within the front end Revenue Cycle coordination. Success in this role ensures compliance with established policies and procedures, project coordination, staff training and scheduling software maintenance, patient estimates, denial avoidance and upholding the financial clearance policy. The Supervisor works with stakeholders to understand complex issues, recognize decision points and deliver creative solutions while partnering with a wide variety of clinical settings and personnel.

What you will do

  • Provide daily tracking of workflow functions and suggests/implements solutions to assure turnaround times are met. Prioritizes workflow and staffing assignments. Maintains statistical information to ensure appropriate staff scheduling for optimum customer service. Reports all operating process issues in a timely and accurate manner to the Patient Access Manager.
  • Ensures up-to-date policy and procedures and assists in development of new policies and procedures. Plans, develop, implement and evaluate goals and objectives, policies and procedures in conjunction with leadership and peers.
  • Evaluate daily performance of the staff via productivity to ensure optimal efficiency and compliance, detects unsatisfactory trends/performance deficiencies; reports these to the Patient Access Manager and institutes appropriate actions.
  • Effectively coordinate pre-registration, pre-certification, pre-authorization, payer notification, insurance verification, financial counseling, referrals, point of care collections, patient access training and denial avoidance.
  • Coordinate staff onboarding and in services, validate to ensure competencies are obtained. Assist employees with implementations in all aspects of computer software and process projects.
  • Create and maintain staff schedule in accordance with budget. Assist in meeting guidelines for reimbursement from government and private providers.
  • Demonstrate good rapport, continual education updates and cooperative working relationships with physician office staff, all hospital departments, physicians and co-workers to ensure that all patient access areas operate efficiently in a positive and professional manner.
  • Provide timely information to leadership team regarding Patient Access processes, staffing and customer service (patients, physician office staff, all hospital departments, physicians and co-workers) issues.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Associate's or equivalent experience in areas of Business, Health Information Management, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of front-end revenue cycle supervisory/leadership experience in a large healthcare setting
  • 1-3 years Proven experience managing multiple projects and personnel management effectively
