Position Highlights
POSITION SUMMARY: Furnishes diagnostic, assessment, preventative and therapeutic services to promote the mental health of Regional Health Services of Howard County patients and community. He/she acts as a resource to physicians, hospital staff and the community in developing awareness of psychological principles, which might be helpful in working with individuals and groups.
This position may rotate to our other clinics as needed
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) from graduate program approved by the American Psychological Association is preferred. Licensed or license eligible to provide psychological care in Minnesota.
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association) via current card prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintains current status.
Experience:
One year of experience with demonstrated competence in providing evaluation and psychotherapy services is preferred.
Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes:
Must be able to demonstrate competence in the ability to develop rapport and consult with all levels of medical and health center staff.
Must be able to demonstrate ongoing competence in maintaining strict confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
Displays competence with high level socialization skills and the ability to interact appropriately with staff and wide range of clientele under stressful conditions. Able to act as a model for stable lifestyle and personality. Must be free of psychological or substance abuse impairments that adversely affect job performance. Is willing to cooperate with formal, independent psychological evaluation if questions are raised in the above areas.
Must demonstrate competence in writing psychological reports and in utilizing other documentation systems utilized at RHSHC.
Ability to adhere to RHSHC personnel policies.
