A Brief Overview

Develops group and agent relationships leading to retention, creates and executes strategic account plans. They serve as the group and agent's trusted, health insurance resource assisting them and ensuring their experience is the best service possible. This includes the responsibility for service, performance, business enhancement for each assigned account.

What you will do

  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding production towards achievement of membership goal.
  • Develop and execute plans required for outstanding performance as measured by client retention and survey response including: Develop and manage business plan for key accounts. Build strong, productive and influential relationships with groups and their agents. Oversee execute the on-boarding and renewal process of large employer groups. Encourage networking with community leaders to promote Avera's visibility in the community and attendance at important industry functions and other events. Knowledge required in offering thoughtful solutions and recommendations to enhance the sales, growth, health and retention of accounts.
  • Develop book-of-business plan to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Provide clients the service required to reach company performance objectives. Owns the service experience of clients and agents in the field. Works with internal service and operational departments to insure complex situations regarding eligibility, claims, and billing are resolved timely and according to Avera Health Plans policies, Participation Agreement and the Certificate of Coverage. Interface with assigned brokers and consultants. Responsible for group renewals for which he/she is assigned, including negotiating with Risk Management/Underwriters and positioning the renewal with the agent and closing the renewal.
  • Receive, renew, and document all steps of the renewal process for group renewal including alternate quotes as requested.
  • Other duties as requested.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • South Dakota Resident Producers License - South Dakota Division of Insurance active in state of practice within 60 Days

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's
  • Three to five years of related experience and/or training
