The Director, Paid Social is responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of paid social media programs. This role oversees a team of paid social professionals, drives innovation across platforms, and ensures that Avenue Z’s clients achieve measurable business outcomes through best-in-class paid social campaigns. The Director is accountable for cross-functional collaboration and the integration of paid social with broader performance media and marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
Develop and own the paid social strategy across all major platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, and emerging channels), ensuring alignment with client business objectives and Avenue Z’s performance media vision. - Team Management & Development:
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning. Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities. - Campaign Oversight:
Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of multi-channel paid social campaigns, ensuring excellence in targeting, creative, and performance analysis. Set standards for campaign architecture, testing, and reporting. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with creative, analytics, and client services teams to deliver integrated solutions. Collaborate with other performance media leaders (e.g., paid search, influencer, organic social) to drive holistic results. - Innovation & Best Practices:
Stay ahead of platform changes, industry trends, and emerging technologies. Champion the adoption of new tools, data-driven approaches, and creative formats to maximize ROI. - Client Leadership:
Serve as a senior point of contact for key clients, providing strategic counsel, presenting insights, and ensuring client satisfaction. Lead quarterly business reviews and annual planning for paid social accounts. - Budget & Performance Management:
Set and manage paid social budgets, pacing, and projections. Ensure efficient media spend and alignment with client goals. Oversee performance analytics, reporting, and optimization recommendations. - Process & Quality Control:
Establish and enforce processes for campaign setup, QA, and reporting. Drive operational excellence and scalability across the paid social function.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in paid social media, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role, preferably in an agency environment.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, multi-platform paid social campaigns and leading high-performing teams.
- Deep expertise in Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, and other major platforms.
- Advanced analytical skills, with proficiency in tools such as Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and attribution modeling.
- Strong understanding of creative strategy, content development, and platform-specific best practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills.
- Experience with budget management, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Teamwork).
- Experience with creative tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma) is a plus.
Compensation
- Job Type: Full-time Employee
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM EST
- Employees within driving distance of our offices must work in-office at least three days a week.
- Annual Base Salary: $120,000 - $130,000/year + Bonus
