About this role
The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the supervisor of site services and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Hourly Rate: $27 - $28
Location: Berkeley, CA
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm

What we’re looking for
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: 2+ years in a customer-facing environment - material handling/inventory/customer service.
Knowledgeable and experienced in chemical handling.
Able to lift 50lbs. required
2+ years of applicable experience in inventory control, procurement, or related operations.
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel
A very customer-facing role
SAP experience is a plus

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
In this role you will:
Coordinate all inventory types, which may include the following: common laboratory consumables, chemicals, and procurement functions.
Focus on safety and adhere to safety as part of the scope of work, drive safety initiatives impacting Avantor safety standards.
Workorder follow-up, doing GEMBA walks, and conducting onsite training to maintain certifications and access.
Use of required Avantor and/or customer systems for job functions such as Inventory Management and Advanced SAP.
Create, understand, and follow Standard Operating Procedures; make recommendations, anticipate needs, and understand what changes are required for SOP's and/or draft revisions;
demonstrated ability to train others on SOW/SOP, understand customer service/expansion requests, and relay to leadership for consideration.
Control/fulfill Inventory, communication with customer, scope of work, and adherence to proper documentation outlining the change.
Performs inventory coordination activities such as handling routine issues and entering shipping information into customer computer systems.
Responsible for all customer service-related functions, including but not limited to: order entry, reporting, maintaining metrics, etc.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment that may include a cubicle, a stockroom, and Point-of-Use locations at customer locations.
Perform other duties as assigned

Pay Transparency:
The expected pre-tax pay for this position is
$49,000.00 - $79,350.00Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
