We are expanding our team for the Platform Services and Emerging Technologies organization. Our engineering culture will empower you to make effective decisions, work collaboratively, and take accountability for engineering projects at the core of the company. 

We are seeking a motivated and skilled DevOps Engineer to administrator, manage, and optimize our GitHub Enterprise Cloud and GitHub Enterprise Server environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in GitHub Administration or Application Administration and possess a robust continuous learning mindset. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to support GitHub at scale for thousands of developers.

Responsibilities

  • Application Support: Provide Level 3 support and troubleshoot enterprise applications both in our data center and in the cloud

  • Maintenance & Upgrades: Perform regular application upgrades and maintenance

  • Developer Support: Support a large developer base efficiently and effectively

  • Security & Compliance: Facilitate audit controls and ensure application security measures

  • API Integrations: Troubleshoot and manage integrations utilizing APIs and SDKs

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to build and troubleshoot integrations

  • Reliability: Ensure high reliability and uptime of applications

  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in on-call rotations to provide production support

  • Availability: Be available to perform system maintenance occasionally on evenings or weekends

    Minimum Qualifications 

    • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience supporting source control tools for internal engineers

    • Linux Administration: 3-5+ years of experience with Linux system administration

    • System Logs: Ability to read and debug Linux system logs

    • Git Expertise: Hands-on experience using Git and troubleshooting common Git errors

    • Virtual Machines & Cloud: Familiarity with production-level virtual machines and cloud environments

    • API Interaction: Experience interacting with APIs via tools like curl

    Preferred Qualifications

    • GitHub Expertise: Experience with GitHub Enterprise Cloud, GitHub Enterprise Server, or Artifactory Administration

    • Programming: Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Node.js

    • GitHub Features: Familiarity with GitHub Actions, GitHub Integrations, and Artifactory & Artifactory XRay features

    • Kubernetes: Experience with Kubernetes

    • Monitoring Tools: Knowledge of logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace

    • Code Quality: Familiarity with feature flags and code quality tools

    • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Infrastructure as Code practices

    • Certifications: GitHub or DevOps certifications are a plus

    Salary transparency

    Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $91,800 and $158,400. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
