AutoCanada is the largest Canadian owned and publicly traded automotive dealer group operating in Canada and the US. We are innovative, data-driven and our commitment to our Team Members, customers and operational excellence fuels our success.

Our dealership Team Members are at the heart of our success, building long-lasting, trust-based relationships with customers across Canada. Our national network provides opportunities and support to build the career that’s right for you. Working here is fast-paced, non-stop, and a little unpredictable—and we love it.

Your area of focus.

As a Vehicle Acquisition Specialist, you will be responsible for strategically acquiring and managing pre-owned inventory to drive profitability, efficiency, and long-term growth. This role requires a disciplined, data-driven approach to vehicle acquisition—buying the right vehicles at the right price to maintain a profitable front-end gross while keeping inventory turn rates high.

What drives your day-to-day?

  • Managing your acquired inventory from purchase to sale completion—owning the full sales lifecycle.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior leaders and management teams at new car stores to secure premium inventory opportunities.
  • Using data and market insights (vAuto, dealership analytics, and competitive pricing tools) to make profitable, strategic buying decisions.
  • Thriving in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while ensuring a disciplined buying approach.
  • Confidently communicating with dealership teams and leadership—over-communication is a plus.
  • Ensuring inventory moves quickly, supporting the company’s 85-90% sell-through rate every 30 days.

What are the must-haves…

  • 2+ years of pre-owned vehicle purchasing experience with a proven track record of profitability.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills—knowing the true value of a vehicle before purchase, not after it sells.
  • Experience working with senior leadership and management teams at franchise dealerships to acquire inventory.
  • High-pressure work ethic—you thrive in fast-paced, competitive environments.
  • Expertise in dealership systems and processes (vAuto, buy-to-sale strategy, reconditioning, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills—confidence in negotiating, influencing, and closing deals.
  • A disciplined buying mindset—growth is important, but profitability is the priority.

The Perks.

  • Competitive Compensation and Benefits Package
  • Employee Vehicle Purchase & Service Plans
  • Employee and Family Assistance Programs
  • Company-wide appreciation events and contests throughout the calendar year
  • Professional development and the opportunity to grow your career

And those are just the basics. We strive every day to create a workplace culture that embraces diversity and inclusivity, ensures fairness and equal opportunities, and fosters a sense of belonging for all Team Members. As an equal opportunity employer, we actively support everyone in expressing themselves and reaching their full potential.
