We’re searching for a Mission Control Specialist who will play a crucial role in expanding the remote operations team. This person will be responsible for safely monitoring the lane for the fleet to coordinate the remote assistants needed along the route. They will also serve as the escalation path to resolve more advanced trigger requests or other activities that require extended vehicle pairing.</p> <p><strong>Schedule:</strong> <strong>Day and Night shift available, ability to work weekends!</strong></p> <p><strong>In this role, you will</strong></p> <ul> <li>Monitor weather, traffic, construction and other off nominal activities along the lane and setting appropriate actions to manage the variety of situations the vehicle may encounter along the lane</li> <li>Provide a deep level of technical expertise regarding all activities associated with remote operations</li> <li>Respond to and resolve in a timely manner a variety of trigger requests from the autonomous vehicle when Remote Assistants are not available</li> <li>Safely send remote commands to autonomous vehicles for on road and closed course testing</li> <li>Log real time feedback regarding autonomy and platform performance during testing, to be delivered to engineers</li> <li>Identifies operational blockers, brainstorm solutions as the subject-matter expert, and escalate operational blockers with suggested solutions</li> <li>Identify key areas of inefficiency, work cross-functionally to establish best practices with a “Win Together” mindset.</li> <li>Demonstrate positive impact at Aurora by working on cross-functional projects as time permits</li> <li>Maintain up to date knowledge of how our self-driving technology works. Understand daily software and operational changes</li> <li>Work toward quantitative and qualitative goals that impact all of Vehicle Operations and Aurora&nbsp;</li> <li>Interact with the public as an ambassador for Aurora</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to constantly focus on a laptop monitoring proprietary tooling to aid autonomous vehicle operations</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal</li> <li>Keen attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to prioritize and make strategic decisions proactively&nbsp;</li> <li>Consistent focus on safety</li> <li>Ability to think critically&nbsp;</li> <li>Willingness to learn every day</li> <li>Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 5 years of driving history and a clean driving record, validated by MVR check</li> <li>Must pass initial and random drug and alcohol screenings</li> <li>100% in office with the ability to travel as needed</li> <li>Available to work day or night shifts&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to work early mornings or late nights, on rotating shifts&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to work regular overtime and some weekends</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in operations, technology, customer service, or automotive field</li> <li>Proficient in G-Suite</li> <li>Command line interface experience</li> <li>Interest and aptitude for technology tools - apps, gaming, adobe creative suite, etc.</li> <li>Experience working in a collaborative environment - team player</li> </ul> <p><em>The base hourly wage range for this position is&nbsp;</em><em>$37.00-$47.00 per</em><em> hour.&nbsp; Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
