Our NSW & ACT Integrated Transport and Mobility (ITM) Practice is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Transport Planner/ traffic engineer (5–10 years experience) to join our Sydney team.
The role
You will work on a mix of Transport Impact Assessments (TIA), strategic transport planning, and transport advisory projects for major developments and infrastructure. This is a hands-on role with direct client exposure, and clear pathways to senior and leadership opportunities.
You will:
- Lead and deliver Transport Impact Assessments for complex development and infrastructure projects
- Contribute to strategic transport planning, active transport, and multimodal access studies
- Support or manage projects end-to-end, including scope, programme, budget, and risk
- Engage directly with clients, approval authorities, and stakeholders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Aurecon
- Contribute to winning work and growing trusted client relationships
What we’re looking for
- A relevant tertiary qualification with 5–10 years’ experience in transport planning/ traffic engineering
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing Transport Impact Assessments
- Sound technical judgement and confidence working with data, modelling outputs, and policy frameworks
- Experience supporting or leading project delivery
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and interest in mentoring others
