SENIOR / LEAD FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEER

Your role
As a Lead/ Senior Engineer in our Buildings Group, you'll guide purposeful work that supports the future of the buildings sector. Collaborating with a diverse, multidisciplinary team, you’ll explore integrated solutions, offer thoughtful perspectives, and partner with clients to help them build a more sustainable world.
What you’ll be doing
• Enabling the sustainable and equitable development of infrastructure across Queensland and Australia.
• Designing the solutions for our clients in fire protection engineering, including dry and wet fire systems across a range of industries, including Defence, Aviation, Education, Sports and Commercial.
• Adopting human-centred design practices to deliver projects for the benefit of communities in which we live, work and play.
• Collaborating with clients to develop high quality engineering solutions across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, health, education, precinct / urban realm, transport, energy and sports & recreation.
• Leading teams of multidisciplinary designers to deliver coordinated solutions to meet ever changing market conditions.
• Enabling the development and progression of junior team members as a day-to-day people leader.
What you’ll bring
You blend technical knowledge with empathy and big-picture thinking. You're someone who thrives in dynamic environments, builds meaningful connections, and is motivated by purposeful work. You’ll also have:
• A relevant engineering degree and experience in fire protection system design.
• Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ, via the BPEQ) or as a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng, via Engineers Australia), or equivalent.
• A strong ability to shape thoughtful, effective solutions in buildings and infrastructure development.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a wide range of people.
• A willingness to question the status quo and offer new perspectives.
