He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The opportunity has arisen to work as a Senior Libraries & Council Services Assistant in the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu location. This will require you to be flexible as you may need to work from other sites within the local board area.
Ōtāhuhu Library needs this person customer and community focused role, you will be contributing to empowering and enabling our community by working alongside them and other key stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues and customers to enable a great experience while supporting and/or delivering exciting learning programmes and activities that are driven by community need.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
• Comfortable and proficient in Te Reo Maori me ona tikanga.
• Assist customers in their use of the library, library equipment and services.
• Ability to build trusted relationships, develop networks and communicate confidently in diverse settings.
• Support customers to navigate complex or persistent issues, diffusing tense situations appropriately and safely; escalating matters where necessary.
• Contribute to the sharing of skills and knowledge with team / peers.
Our libraries in Māngere-Ōtāhuhu are open 7 days a week so flexibility around working days, including weekends and late nights, is required. Here at Ōtāhuhu Library your working days and hours negotiable will be:
• Sunday
• Tuesday
• Wednesday
