Job Description

The base annual salary range for this position is $110k - $130k.

The Director of Retail oversees daily operations for Sports Club and Golf retail outlets, leading teams to achieve performance goals and deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role is accountable for inventory management, cost control, company assets, visual merchandising, and staff development, while ensuring professional selling techniques and outstanding customer service at all times.

  • Oversee all retail operations in the Sports Club and Golf retail. Manage. 
  • Develop and execute merchandising strategies aligned with customer demographics and market trends. Achieve planned goals in sales, margins, and profitability.
  • Manage inventory levels, coordinate seasonal pop-up shops, and work with third-party buying partners to ensure on-brand product selection.
  • Conduct market research, comparison shop, and maintain visual merchandising standards to keep the retail environment current and competitive.
  • Oversee administrative duties, including budgeting, scheduling, payroll, and staff management. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational policies.
  • Lead physical inventories, direct merchandising efforts, and maintain a professional retail environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and motivate diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Proficiency in computerized spreadsheets, inventory management, and POS software.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to make decisions in the best interest of guests and the department.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform merchandising tasks.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and hours as required by the position.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Any combination of education and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skill and ability.
  • High school graduate preferred.

Experience:

  • Previous leadership experience in a high-end, luxury resort.
