POSITION SUMMARY

The Research Coordinator works under the department of Clinical Development. The role of the Research Coordinator includes assistance with development and implementation of research department standards and protocols. It is the responsibility of the research coordinator to organize and manage clinical trials and research projects.

This position provides detailed instructions and education to attending physicians and necessary staff regarding the appropriate criteria set forth by the study that needs to be followed for protocol compliance and acts as a liaison to the hospital IRB.

This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. BLSHCP required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1 year RN experience required.Minimum 4-6 years research study experience preferred. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.
