About this role

POSITION SUMMARY
The Emergency Medical Services Logistics Technician assists the EMS logistics coordinator with equipment and medication supply chain for all EMS vehicles and locations, the planning and scheduling of vehicle maintenance for all ARMC vehicles. This position also is responsible for the planning and support for both planned and non-planned EMS events, member of the ARMC fleet team, performing both winter/summer prep on EMS locations and system vehicles as required and emergency response with NJ EMS taskforce assets.
 
The EMS Logistics Technician is responsible the stocking of all EMS locations to support daily operations, special event operations and large-scale events. The EMS logistics Technician works with the EMS Logistics Coordinator to ensure equipment and medications are readily available, including alternative products when necessary and obtaining quotes when required. The EMS logistics Technician assists with ensuring all vehicles receive their preventive maintenance when required and all repairs are scheduled and performed in a timely manner.
 
This position acts in a professional manner, maintaining effective working relationships. The EMS Logistics Technician provides clear and properly executed documentation of all daily activities.
 
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current BLS (professional rescuer or health care provider level) required, NJ EMT or NJ MICP preferred. Proof of Valid New Jersey Driver's License required, CDL preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in automotive maintenance, basic building repair; and computer operation required.
 
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
 
 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital, commercial, and maintenance environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. Work involves exposure to various climate extremes and weather conditions and exposure to disagreeable odors. Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment or containers up to 70 lbs and lifting equipment or assisting with patients up to 350lbs with assistance. May be required to work from substantial heights. Must maintain physical fitness necessary to move rapidly when required.

This position reports to department leadership as assigned.
