POSITION SUMMARY
 

Reports To: EAP Manager
 
Training: Annual, Safety, CPI six (6) hours in discipline, BLS
 
Career Development: Therapist LIP  Sr. Therapist  Prgm Manager  Director

Position Summary:
The EAP Therapist counsels and assists employees with issues affecting personal well-being and job-related performance. Evaluates and recommends outside treatment, if necessary. Provides on-site and virtual trainings as well as incident debriefings for employees.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assessment of new individuals contacting the Employee Assistance Program for services
Complete all necessary EAP related documentation
Engages support systems and referral sources
Provides basic case management services and documents treatment provided.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to any age/disability group assigned
Proficient in the knowledge and skills described in the core competency curriculum for each assigned age/disability group
Provides competent individual, family, couples, group psychotherapy, and substance use interventions
Provides other therapeutic services, within scope of demonstrated competence, as required
Provides competent crisis intervention
Assists with case management and interagency coordination of services for clients. Makes appropriate referrals
Provides clinical guidance and appropriate interaction with external providers.
Documents all client interactions, including all sessions with clients, families, significant others, etc. within established time frames
Completes Progress Notes accurately, addressing treatment goals, major clinical issues and changes in mental health status
Writes in a professional and competent manner
Documentation must be completed within one (1) calendar day of service delivery
Productivity goals shall meet % as designated by department
Provides EAP related trainings to employees and active contracts
Provide crisis critical incident debriefing when called upon
 

Minimal Qualifications:
Education: Master's Degree in behavioral health
Valid LSW, Valid NJ Drivers License
 
Experience: Two (2) years in behavioral health and substance use treatment setting

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional years experience in behavioral health and addiction setting
Bi-lingual
 

Equipment Use: Computer, virtual platforms delivering telehealth, copier, facsimile
