Minimum Required and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required (nursing, business, healthcare management); Doctoral degree in nursing preferred. 
  • Current RN licensure (State of New Jersey and/or Multistate License) required.     
  • Certification in nursing leadership (ANCC or CENP®) required within 1 year of hire or transfer
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a nursing leadership role required.
  • Demonstrated nursing leadership experience and managerial skills required.   

POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Chief Nursing Officer, AtlantiCare Campuses (ACNO) serves as a member of the Executive Nursing Team and is a dynamic, knowledgeable, experienced, and respected leader.  This position is responsible for the clinical, administrative, and fiscal operations of nursing at the City and Mainland Campuses of AtlantiCare which include direct responsibility for all inpatient units and emergency services.  The ACNO executes the nursing and organizational strategic plan through active engagement, influence, and leadership acumen while demonstrating competency in nursing care models, fiscal accountability, patient, and employee engagement.  Focus on clinical quality and outcomes, safe practice, and workforce wellbeing are essential characteristics.  The ACNO demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with all organizational leaders.      

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Master’s degree required (nursing, business, healthcare management); Doctoral

degree in nursing preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current RN licensure (State of New Jersey and/or Multistate License) required; certification in nursing leadership (ANCC or CENP®) required within 1 year of hire or transfer.  

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum 5 years’ experience in a nursing leadership role required; demonstrated nursing leadership and managerial skills required.   

 

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to the hazards of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous waste, and potential for injury. This position requires a moderate amount of standing and walking and the ability to lift light to moderate weight, up to approximately 20 pounds occasionally.

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to the Chief Nurse Executive of AtlantiCare and supervises incumbents as assigned.
