ATL Technology, a global medical contract manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced and driven finance professional to serve as the primary financial partner to our Global Engineering organization, supporting program economics, investment decisions, and operational performance across new product development and execution. This role will be heavily involved in creating and governing financial processes related to bringing and executing new business initiatives at ATL. This role will be responsible for global coordination of internal and external financial transactions associated with engineering efforts in a vertically integrated environment. As the financial analyst supporting the Engineering team, you will help drive the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes in coordination with the engineering departments you support.  You will also help ensure Engineering financial statement impact is recorded in accordance with US GAAP and provide monthly analysis to management related to results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly review meetings with engineering leadership and global program management to interpret engineering project impact to ATL’s financial statements. Reviews will include budget vs actual analysis, program margins, engineering department spend, and resource utilization, amongst other needs.
  • Partner with VP of Engineering and Global Engineering teams to drive change and create streamlined financial processes that create visibility and ensure appropriate revenue and cost recognition.
  • Prepare annual engineering budgets and 13 week forecasts in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Lead evolution of ATL’s financial systems, as it relates to revenue and cost recognition, project tracking, and reporting, in order to create efficiency and accuracy in our Engineering financial processes.
  • Review and advise on engineering service contracts to determine appropriate accounting, cost tracking, asset ownership, and program cost recovery. 
  • Help coordinate Engineering related capex across multiple sites to ensure proper capitalization of ATL owned capex or tracking of customer owned and reimbursed capex.
  • Support audit requirements related to engineering impact and process narratives.
  • Assistance with various other finance and accounting projects as needed.

  • Financial process is well defined and understood by global stakeholders and sufficient controls are in place to ensure appropriate revenue and cost recognition, as well as appropriate capitalization of assets
  • Engineering leaders rely on you as a strategic partner, not just a reporting function
  • Program financial risks and opportunities are identified early, and investments are supported by clear financial rationale and trade-off analysis
  • Forecast accuracy and visibility into engineering spend and margins improves

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 5+ years of finance or accounting experience supporting business operations
  • Experience leading meetings and interpreting financial results to business leaders
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606) guidance
  • Business partner mindset demonstrated through building relationships across all levels of the company and providing exceptional service to stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively with enterprise systems and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in similar role in Manufacturing industry, preferred
  • Project accounting experience, preferred
  • Experience with systems utilized by ATL: Infor (ERP), OneStream (consolidation), and Power BI (analytics), preferred
