We value and encourage diversity, and we have the courage to do the right thing, even when it’s hard. </span></p> <p><span>ATCO Structures & Logistics is looking to hire a registered <strong>Apprentice Carpenter (2<sup>nd</sup>,3<sup>rd</sup>, 4<sup>th</sup> year, Journeyman)</strong> to join our Calgary Manufacturing Plant. Reporting to the Lead head, Carpenter Apprentice is responsible for assisting in constructing, erecting, installing and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes. </span></p> <p><span>This is a union-based role. Location will be Calgary,AB and RockyView County, AB Location</span></p> <p><span>Job Responsibilities: </span></p> <ul> <li><span>Build house framework, walls, roof, exterior and interior finishes</span></li> <li><span>Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles</span></li> <li><span>Repair and remodel existing structures of all kinds</span></li> <li><span>Read and interpret drawings. </span></li> <li><span>Select materials, plan sequences and methods of work, and measure and mark materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions.</span></li> <li><span>Cut and shape materials and join them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue.</span></li> <li><span>Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and in the right size, shape, and location.</span></li> <li><span>Work accurately and economically and follow national and local building codes</span></li> <li><span>Other duties as assigned.</span></li> </ul> <p><span>Who You Are: </span></p> <ul> <li><span>Actively registered Apprentice Carpenter (2<sup>nd</sup>, 3<sup>rd</sup>,4<sup>th</sup> year or Journeyman)</span></li> <li><span>Previous experience with modular units is considered an asset</span></li> <li><span>Ability to read and interpret blueprints.</span></li> <li><span>Ability to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools as well as other building materials.</span></li> <li><span>Ability to work in a team environment.</span></li> </ul> <p><span>What We Offer:</span></p> <ul> <li><span>Competitive hourly rate and Benefits</span></li> <li><span>Indoor manufacturing facility, Work life balance, Day shift, Monday – Friday.</span></li> <li><span>Opportunity to work on exciting projects. </span></li> <li><span>Safety-driven, diverse, and inclusive workforce</span></li> </ul> <p><span>Who we Are:</span></p> <p><span>ATCO Structures is a worldwide leader in modular design, manufacturing, and construction.
