About the team:
Join the team that is responsible for supervision of admissions to ASX’s listed market. You will engage with listed entities and their advisers on the full range of legal and regulatory issues involved in the admission process. Bring your experience and judgement to decisions as a high performer in a fast-paced and collegiate environment with a strong work-life balance and a genuine sense of purpose.
Work within the team responsible for supervision of admissions to ASX’s listed market, including equity and debt listings and investment products. Our team's performance is critical to ASX's success in operating a market of the highest integrity and meeting the expectations of our customers and the wider Australian community.
What you will be doing:
How we do things at ASX is just as important as what we do. This means, if you're a people leader, you will be responsible for both the core duties outlined below, and providing leadership to your team to ensure we foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment, where people feel empowered, accountable, and deeply connected (as outlined in our Leadership Principles).
Apply your strong legal, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills to assess and advise on applications for admission to ASX’s listed market, in a team with a clear and strong sense of shared purpose. While admissions will be your main responsibility, you may be required from time to time to supervise compliance by listed entities with their listing obligations.
Use your experience and sound judgement to ensure that any issues with an applicant or its application that could impact on the integrity and reputation of ASX’s market are appropriately identified, escalated and resolved.
Manage listing applications from initial contact through to decision. You will work proactively, communicating clearly and effectively with applicants and their advisers. You will assess and prioritise issues, consulting or escalating where appropriate.
You will make clear and well-supported recommendations to management on your applications, with concise and high-quality supporting information. You will clearly highlight risks and decision points, as well as your recommended actions.
Support and mentor less experienced team members, and contribute positively to team discussions of applications, policy issues and other matters.
Engage directly with ASIC as ASX’s regulator and as a key stakeholder with a strong and shared interest in market integrity.
Learn new skills and collaborate with other teams within ASX Compliance including enforcement, listings compliance and the transformation and operational performance team.
What you will bring:
Must have
At least 5 years of relevant industry or professional experience. Candidates with at least 3 years of relevant experience will be considered at an Adviser level.
Good problem solving skills and the ability to analyse and assess complex corporate structures, governance and transaction documents and financial and similar reports for compliance with requirements.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues simply and clearly.
Enthusiasm and proactivity.
Nice to have:
A tertiary degree in law is an advantage. Strong candidates with tertiary qualifications in finance or accounting are also encouraged.
Experience in capital markets and corporate governance is an advantage. Strong candidates with other backgrounds (such as financial markets regulation or litigation) are also encouraged.
Good knowledge of the Listing Rules and Corporations Act and their application to listed entities is an advantage.
We make hiring decisions based on your skills, capabilities and experience, and how you’ll help us to live our values. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the criteria of this role. If you need any adjustments during the application or interview process to help you present your best self, please let us know.
At ASX Group, our diverse workforce is essential to build and maintain a fair and dynamic marketplace. We support flexible working and offer hybrid working options. Even if our roles are advertised as full-time, we encourage you to apply if you are interested in part-time or other flexible working arrangements.
We will arrange for successful candidates to have background checks, including reference and police checks completed as part of the on-boarding process.
