About this role

The Instructional Technologist provides support to the broader Asurion University (AU) organization by supporting the use of digital platforms used for training and coaching, analyzing, and reporting out on data gathered from outcome-based training initiatives, and providing insights to and consulting with leadership about key performance trends and identifying and suggesting training methods to improve behavior and performance for our frontline Experts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with key stakeholders throughout AU to integrate student learning outcomes into the design, development, implementation, and management of instructional content, courses, and projects within AU’s online learning management system (LMS) to enrich teaching and learning
  • Generates reports and delivers relevant insights in a simple and accessible format
  • Recognizing patterns using analytical skills, technical skills, and problem-solving skills to identify noteworthy trends in data
  • Maintains the reporting of system statistics for the LMS and related technology tools.
  • Provides technical support for all LMS instructional initiatives to improve
    learning outcomes, facilitate technology-rich teaching and advance curricular
    innovation.
  • Assists in enhancing teaching and learning through the identification,
    evaluation, adoption, and integration of effective educational technology
    innovations into the curriculum.
  • Collaborates with AU’s leadership team to create, review, edit, and share
    analytic reports for comprehensive evaluation.
  • Collects and disseminates information pertaining to best practices in
    educational assessment, curriculum development and technology-infused
    innovations
  • Evaluates relevant emerging technologies that have potential value for
    teaching and learning
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with Subject Matter Experts and
    assists with the development of content that supports what students need to
    learn, sequencing of the content, and development of content.
  • Assists with the process for systematic review and evaluation of AU’s learning
    strategies, including the development and monitoring of outcomes and plans
    of action for improvement based on the assessment of those outcomes and
    plans.

Here’s what you’ll bring to the team:

  • Experience supporting creation and delivery of various forms of training through electronic resources
  • Experience applying a systematic instructional design approach to the creation of learning programs
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and focus on quality
  • Ability to measure learning results based on learning goals
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate a sense of urgency to work within specific timeframes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meaningful teamwork skills; ability to work within a collaborative environment
  • Ability to take initiative without waiting for direction
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and reporting instruments
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience desired
  • 2+ years demonstrated success with increasing responsibility and various assignments in managing the delivery of training courses
  • Experience coding and/or developing advanced eLearning courses a plus
  • Comfortable with the management/manipulation of large data sets
  • Experience using business intelligence resources (Power BI, Domo, Sisense, etc.) to gather actionable insights for data-driven strategies
  • Experience with spreadsheet programs and database software
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps a plus
