Astroscale U.S. Inc. is currently seeking a Docking Intern for Summer 2026.

Job Description

  • Develop creative mechanical design concepts to deliver on-orbit servicing solutions.
  • Perform structural design and configuration tasks on a range of items including spacecraft structures, ground support equipment, deployable structures, and servicing interfaces.
  • Develop robotic controls system and be able to communicate between software, electrical, and mechanical teams and tasks.
  • Support functional testing of prototype systems to inform design improvement iterations.
  • Support structural qualification testing on spacecraft systems and components including test design, test conduct, and operating interface equipment for unit under test.
  • Parse, analyze, and present data collected during testing efforts
  • Produce part and assembly drawings for manufacturing and interfacing with manufacturers.
  • Apply technical knowledge to analyze, investigate, and solve engineering problems.
  • Collaborate with customer and supplier staff, and staff from other parts of Astroscale.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, reports, and presentations. 

Qualifications

  • Current student or recent graduate studying for a degree related to your internship. 
  • Coursework, training, or experience related to your internship.
  • Fantastic communication skills: oral and written.

Pay rate: $29/hr
