About this role

What this Job Entails: 

The Software Engineer designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products. They will also develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms.

Scope: 

  • Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues

  • Works on problems of moderate scope

  • Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administration, development, and application support for end users

  • Participate in the design, develop, code, test and debug system software

  • Review code and design software

  • Participate in configuring and integrating third-party software components and technologies

  • Engage in performing root cause analysis of network, operating system, and other issues related to how technical solutions operate in customer environments

  • Address and resolve software bugs and bug reproduction requests; logging of all incidents and requests; engaging other service desk resources or appropriate service resources to resolve incidents that are beyond the scope of their ability or responsibility

  • Provide limited after hours and on-call support as needed

  • Engage in review and development of test documentation

  • Work with stakeholders and cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Builds productive internal and external working relationships

  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

  • Understanding of various development programs

  • Ability to quickly learn customer support processes, tools and techniques

  • Understanding of how to configure third-party software components and technologies 

  • Ability to perform root cause analysis of network, operating system, and other issues 

  • Excellent communication skills in English (both speaking and writing)

  • Ability to collaborate and work remotely including use of communication tools

  • Ability to multi-task and self-organize including prioritization of activities

  • Understanding of using monitoring systems 

  • Attention to detail 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with system administration 

Physical Demand & Work Environment:

  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing

  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment

  • Must be able to use a computer

  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively 

  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
