The Lifecycle Engineer II is responsible for supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of data center hardware platforms in large-scale, enterprise and hyperscale environments. This role partners with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure hardware platforms are introduced, sustained, and retired efficiently while meeting reliability, performance, and availability expectations.
This position requires strong technical fundamentals, hands-on problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.
Support lifecycle management activities for data center hardware platforms, including servers, accelerators, networking, and storage
Execute sustaining engineering tasks across New Product Introduction (NPI), production support, and end-of-life (EOL) phases
Manage hardware changes including component revisions, BOM updates, and platform transitions
Identify lifecycle risks related to reliability, supply continuity, and component obsolescence; support mitigation plans
Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to support build readiness and ongoing production
Analyze field data, failure trends, and operational metrics to support root cause analysis and corrective actions
Provide lifecycle and technical support to internal stakeholders and customer-facing teams
Maintain accurate lifecycle documentation, change records, and process artifacts
Follow established procedures while contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or related discipline) or equivalent experience
3–6 years of experience in lifecycle engineering, sustaining engineering, hardware operations, or data center infrastructure support
Working knowledge of data center hardware systems and components
Experience supporting hardware change management and sustainment activities
Ability to troubleshoot system-level hardware issues in production environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting large-scale data center or hyperscale environments
Familiarity with PLM systems, BOM management, and change control processes
Understanding of hardware reliability concepts and field failure analysis
Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, or technical operations workflows
Experience working in customer-facing or managed services environments
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work in data center and lab environments as required
Ability to lift and move equipment in accordance with safety guidelines
Willingness to support off-hours work or on-call rotations as needed
Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
Must be able to use a computer
Must have the ability to communicate effectively
