As a Warehouse Team Lead, you will provide hands-on leadership across warehouse, shipping, receiving, and boxing operations, ensuring materials flow efficiently and safely to support production and customer needs.

Position Details:
Location: Williston, VT
Job Type: Full-time, salaried exempt
Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000 annually, depending on education, experience, and qualifications

Working Conditions:
This role follows a Monday–Friday, 40-hour workweek with hours set to provide overlap with both shifts. Work is conducted in a warehouse and shipping environment. Safety shoes and earplugs are required along with other personal protective equipment. Additional hours may be required as needed.

General Scope of Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily operations of the warehouse, shipping and receiving, and boxing departments. Lead warehouse teams to achieve objectives related to safety, accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Provide hands-on leadership to ensure the timely and accurate flow of materials, adherence to policies and procedures, and continuous improvement in logistics operations. The Warehouse Team Leader ensures alignment between logistics and production functions, supports effective scheduling of shipments and material movements, and promotes a culture focused on safety, teamwork, and accountability.

Specific Responsibilities:

Safety
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all company and OSHA safety requirements
• Lead and document accident investigations for any safety incidents within the warehouse or shipping areas
• Coordinate required safety training and enforce use of proper PPE for all team members
• Continuously assess facility layout and equipment to identify and correct potential hazards

Logistics & Shipping
• Oversee daily shipping, receiving, and boxing activities to meet production and customer requirements
• Coordinate outbound and inbound freight schedules; verify accuracy of all shipments and associated documentation
• Manage freight carriers and ensure on-time deliveries and pickups
• Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation for domestic and international shipments
• Ensure compliance with CTPAT supply chain security requirements, including secure handling, documentation accuracy, and adherence to approved shipping and receiving procedures
• Work closely with production and planning to ensure materials are delivered to the right place at the right time
• Verify completed work orders and check for accuracy prior to releasing shipments
• Enter and record scrap material sent to customer for recycling and invoice accordingly
• Responsible for bills of lading (BOLs), shipping orders, invoicing, daily completions, month-end reporting, and data entry in JD Edwards

Inventory & Material Control
• Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and audits
• Ensure all work orders are properly completed, closed, and recorded in the ERP system to maintain accurate material and production reporting
• Monitor and report on inventory accuracy, discrepancies, and warehouse efficiency metrics
• Support ERP or warehouse management system (WMS) processes for tracking and movement of materials
• Coordinate space utilization and layout for optimal material flow and accessibility
• Collaborate with purchasing and production planning to maintain appropriate stock levels and minimize material shortages or overstocking
• Responsible for annual physical inventory and Boxing Warehouse Inventory (BWI) activities
• Lead year-end inventory counts requiring participation during designated year-end shutdown or non-business days

Continuous Improvement
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, accuracy, and efficiency in warehouse operations
• Participate in Lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects related to logistics and materials management
• Recommend improvements in packaging, shipping, and receiving procedures

Communication / Training
• Develop and maintain rapport with associates, management and peers
• Evaluate and communicate the daily information flow regarding safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and morale
• Communicate all company policies and procedures to associates, as needed
• Make recommendations and assist in training of manufacturing associates
• Working with other Production Team Leaders and Human Resources to ensure that appropriate skills are being hired, appropriate trainings being conducted, and if necessary, proper progressive discipline followed; maintain compliance with company policies, rules and regulations

Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Equivalent practical experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics leadership strongly desired.

Skills:
• Strong understanding of warehouse, shipping/receiving, and logistics operations
• Knowledge of ERP and inventory management systems (experience with SAP or similar preferred)
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communicator at all levels of the organization
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices
• Safety- and quality-focused
• Forklift certification or experience preferred
