Job Description

Your Future Team:

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the technical capability of our Design Authority (DA).

Your Mission:

This role will be suited to engineers with experience in Electrical Design, although candidates experienced in Electrical Installation or Maintenance are also welcomed.

Responsibilities:

🔧 Technical Excellence:

  • Specify, produce, and assess design packages.

⚙️ Reliability & Operations:

  • Define reliability and operational constraints.

🔍 Maintenance Procedures:

  • Assess work control procedures for maintenance.

🛠️ Design & Material State:

  • Evaluate design, material state, and ageing mechanisms.

🔒 Safety & Security:

  • Promote safety and security culture.
  • Ensure contract outputs meet safety requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • 🎓 Technical Expertise: Infrastructure design and maintenance.
  • ⚠️ Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety and security protocols.
  • 🔬 Analytical Skills: Assess conditions and ageing mechanisms.
  • 🗣️ Communication: Effective with clients and teams.
  • 📋 Project Management: Manage projects and deliver on time.

Qualifications

Skills to be successful

Experience:

  • Experienced Electrical Engineer with previous knowledge of industrial plant and machinery in a HV and LV environment (i.e. pumps, generators, lightning protection, control systems etc.)
  • Knowledge of current design standards and working practices including British & European Standards.
  • Theoretical and practical skill and experience across concept design, detailed design and construction stages across a range of electrical engineering projects (ideally including industrial and/or maritime).
  • Experience in the design assessment of electrical plant and equipment to withstand hazards.
  • Experience of authoring and producing robust technical justification and supporting documentation to allow for relevant electrical design modifications to be authorised within a high hazard industry.
  • Experience working on multi-discipline projects providing engineering input (ideally within industrial and/or maritime).

Qualifications & Training:

  • 🎓 Essential: HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 🔍 Detailed Knowledge: Design Intent for Electrical Infrastructure in the nuclear or similar industry.

Desirable:

Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience and standing

Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant engineering discipline
