About this role

The Senior Network Engineer will be primarily responsible for maintaining and managing a predominately large-scale Cisco & Meraki network and Data Center. The position will work closely with various functional groups and interact with internal clients, providing exceptional service in an efficient and effective manner. The Network Engineer must have Network and VOIP knowledge and experience.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Centrally manage the processes for network configuration and optimization
  • Architect and maintain network solutions for a VOIP/MPLS data and voice network for large scale enterprise consisting of Data Center, corporate sites and over 120 branch locations
  • Support internal clients and provide status, progress, and results to senior management
  • Successfully manage installations, upgrades, real estate relocations and maintenance of routers, switches, APs & Webex Communications products.
  • Evaluates network performance and identifies operational problems and suggests improvements to optimize the VoIP infrastructure
  • Provides Quality of Service (QOS) Traffic engineering/shaping in fully converged network / Models / Best Practices
  • Assist with the implementation of progressive technology projects accordingly
  • Manage wireless and VPN infrastructure
  • Execute basic troubleshooting network voice/data (Cisco/Meraki Routers, PIX, and ASA).
  • Work with Firewalls and communications infrastructure
  • Able to use Wireshark for network end-to-end troubleshooting.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in information technology or other business related field
  • 10 years of experience working directly with large scale data networks, Cisco, Meraki and Palo Alto infrastructures and Firewalls
  • Able to be approved for a corporate card for job related expenses and minimum travel
  • Able to use Microsoft Visio for creation and editing topology drawings

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong problem solving and project management skills with acute attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills -- listening, written, and verbal
  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches 6807, 9k, 5K, 4331, 3750, 2900, 1111
  • Strong working knowledge of IP routing, VLANS, QoS
  • Strong working experience with protocols IGRP, OSPF, EGP, EIGRP, BGP, IPsec
  • Experience installing, upgrading, and maintaining Cisco WAP products - Cisco and Meraki
  • Network Protocols TCP/IP / SIP / MGCP / SCCP / MPLS
  • Experience with Cisco/Meraki ASA firewall, VPN  IPSEC configuration and PaloAlto firewall
  • Ability to professionally communicate both internally and externally with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, and Project)
  • Skilled in being a self-motivating, analytical, and proactive team player

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with Cisco 6807, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ISE, SolarWinds
  • Cisco Certifications CCNP / CCNA / CCVP Certified Professional
  • Working knowledge of WAN technologies (Gigaman and MPLS)
  • Working knowledge of Secure Voice concepts and processes
  • Experience with SDWAN, Meraki MX SDWAN devices and switches
  • Experience with Webex Communications Suite a plus
