Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for serving customers and guests, maintaining the cleanliness, general maintenance, and repair of a premiere association's marina by performing the following duties.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)



• Provides the highest level of customer and guest services
• Provides Boater Assistance
o Assist boats in departing and docking at the marina, as needed
o Assist boaters launching and recovering boats from the fixed ramp, as needed
o Assist transient boaters and collect receipts
• Performs Inspections, Maintenance and Repairs
o Maintain dock house, deck, walkways, pedestals, and related equipment
o Monitor water and electrical services to the docks
o Make routine defect repairs in a timely manner
o Notify Dock Master of concerns, problems, and non-routine or specialized necessary repairs in a timely manner
• Promotes Safety
o Encourage participation in USCG courses and annual boat Inspections.
o Monitor safety of personnel on and around the docks.
o Develop and maintain contingency plans for hurricanes and floods. Coordinate plan execution with boaters.
• Carries out routine cleaning duties that meet established standards for all community and marina related operations; this includes party deck and cypress lounge
• Performs marina related duties to include waste disposal and facility sanitation
• Works with Dock Master to identify and prioritize marina projects and repairs



Requirements

Education / Experience



• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Two or more years related experience and/or training Or equivalent combination of education and experience



Required Qualifications and Qualities



• A positive attitude and the ability to communicate fluently and relate well to customers
• Commercial awareness and an eye for detail in all aspects of work
• Proficient swimmer preferred
• Driver’s License

Reporting/Duties
• Reports to the Dock Master
• Working Hours
o Summer: May to October - Tuesday to Saturday. Hours can vary (6:00am – 2:00pm, 7:00am – 3:00pm, or 9:00am – 5:00pm) Winter: October to May - Monday to Friday. Hours can vary (7:00am – 3:00pm, 9:00am – 5:00pm)
