Position Title: Database Administrator – Intermediate
Work Location: Remote
Customer POC: Appian & Enterprise Cloud Tools Branch

Position Overview

ASRC Federal Agile Decision Sciences LLC is seeking Database Administrators (Intermediate) to support the CECOM Software Engineering Center’s Appian and Enterprise Cloud Tools environment. This role will provide hands-on database administration, sustainment, and performance support for mission-critical low-code applications, ensuring data availability, integrity, security, and scalability across development, test, and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and monitor relational databases supporting Appian and enterprise applications.
  • Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance.
  • Manage database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
  • Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Implement and maintain database security controls, user access, and role-based permissions.
  • Coordinate with application developers, system administrators, and cloud engineers to support application deployments and enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot database issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
  • Support data migrations, schema changes, and environment refreshes across DEV/TEST/PROD.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD security, data governance, and configuration management requirements.
  • Maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting enterprise databases in a production environment.
  • Experience administering relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with application-centric database support in Agile or DevSecOps environments.
  • Experience with backup/recovery tools and performance monitoring.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Appian or other low-code/no-code platforms.
  • Experience in DoD or Federal IT environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted databases (AWS, Azure, GovCloud).
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
