Asplundh Engineering Services provides superior, full service professional engineering, engineering support, equipment procurement, and automation controls integration—from planning and design to implementation and commissioning.  AES-Ambler’s in-house panel shop allows custom control design/build manufacturing.  We have been delivering reliable design of complex electrical systems for over 20 years and are a pioneer in the development of engineering and controls automation.
Job Type: Full-Time +, Non-Exempt
Pay: Competitive, Hourly
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Computer Aided Drafting
  • Guided design of power distribution systems including: service entrance switchboards, engine generators, Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems, monitoring and controls systems, lighting and lighting control systems, fire alarm and security systems 
  • Utilize basic engineering principles and practical design solutions 
  • Attend job meetings & coordinate activities as required 
  • Complete and submit weekly paperwork (timesheets, expense reports, etc.) 
  • Short Circuit and protective device coordination studies using SKM power tools and ETAP.  
  • Work with clients, managers, and engineers to coordinate project designs 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact with cross-functional teams 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively 
  • Outstanding initiative, well-organized and strong sense of responsibility. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications 
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or REVIT is an advantage 
Education & Experience:
  • Current student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering,
    or a related field
     
License & Certifications:
  • Driver's License Preferred, but not required
Travel:
Little to no travel is expected for this position
Physical Requirements:
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Pre-Screen:
  • Upon offer, employees may be required to subject and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
