Job Title: Customer Assistant

 

Location: Asda Express Polkemmet 

Contract: Part-time, Permanent 

Hours: Weekend working essential – Saturdays & Sundays 

Shift Times: Between 7:00am and 10:00pm (shifts may vary) 

Rate of Pay: £12.60 per hour 

Job Overview 

We are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Customer Assistant to join our team at Asda Express Polkemmet. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail and forecourt environment, providing excellent service to local customers while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and store presentation.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver outstanding customer service, serving local customers in a polite and friendly manner 

  • Ensure all forecourt health and safety procedures are followed at all times 

  • Take responsibility for the fuel side of the business as well as in-store goods 

  • Complete compliance and legal paperwork accurately and on time 

  • Pick, pack, and process Just Eat and Uber orders, including responsibility for menu updates 

  • Work store deliveries efficiently and ensure overstock is correctly stored and organised 

  • Carry out date code checks and complete markdowns as required 

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and availability across the store 

  • Work effectively as part of a team while also being confident working independently 

About You 

  • Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused 

  • Reliable and punctual, with flexibility to work weekends 

  • Able to follow procedures and safety guidelines accurately 

  • Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility when required 

  • Organised with good attention to detail 

  • Previous retail or forecourt experience is desirable but not essential (full training provided)
